We had our first real snowfall of the season this morning which means it we can no longer ignore the looming reality that winter is coming. While some people love winter and snow that comes with it many of us dread dealing with the freezing temperatures and the large amount of snow that covers everything in sight. In this article we are going to take a look at some different apps that can help keep you warm and inside during winter!
1. Netflix (Or other streaming app)

The app that gets the most use on my phone during winter is Netflix. For anyone who hasn’t tried Netflix yet, it is an app that allows you to stream from a large selection of movies and shows. They also create their own movies and shows meaning that streaming them Netflix may be your only way of watching certain programs!
There are plenty of other streaming apps that work just as well as Netflix, such as Prime Video, Hulu, and the recently released Disney+! Whatever your streaming preference is, winter is the perfect time of year to curl up on the couch with a blanket and a warm drink to watch your favorite show or movie!
2. SkipTheDishes (or other food delivery apps)

One of the worst feelings is sitting at home going through your cupboards and fridge for the third time trying to decide or find something to eat. This is especially true when it’s freezing outside and you have no motivation to leave the house. This is when an app like SkipTheDishes comes in handy! It allows you to easily order food from a large selection of restaurants, and will then send a driver to pick up and deliver the food right to your front door!
As with streaming services there are a large selections of different delivery apps besides SkipTheDishes such UberEats and Door Dash. It all comes down to what is availbe in your location and what you want delivered!
Weather App

Depending where you live winter can often be very unpredictable. Meaning even if the weather looks beautiful in the morning it could still turn into a blizzard by the end of the day. This is why it is important to know what to expect from the weather during winter. It is a scary feeling to look out your window and realize the snow is piling up and knowing you have a 45 minute drive home. Knowing what to expect from the weather allows you to better plan for it!
I don’t have any specific weather apps to suggest as there are many different ones to choose from. It all comes down to your personal preference and which one offers the most reliable weather statements in your area! The important part is ensuring you are aware of any storms that may be headed your way.
Hopefully these apps helps you all stay warm and safe!
